Fibreglass roofing sheets are ideal for any situation where natural light entering the building is a high priority. Allowing plenty of natural light into a building will greatly improve the experience for the occupants, as artificial lighting can provide a ‘cold’ atmosphere that may be counterproductive. GRP fibreglass is strong and has substantial life expectancy, making it ideal for most scenarios on a long-term basis.

What Are The Benefits Of Fibreglass Roofing Sheets?

Fibreglass roofing sheets can be used as rooflights to allow partial entry for natural lighting in a structure that utilises steel roofing sheets. Translucent fibreglass roofing sheets typically have a light transmission level of 70-90%, dependent on the positioning and type of sheet used.

Single skin fibreglass roofing sheets transmits roughly 85-90% of light and is useful for rooflights. Double skin and triple skin, insulated roofing sheets have a lower transmission of 71-82%., However this is still a significant amount of natural lighting your building can benefit from. This is beneficial during the day, as less lighting can be used, saving you money spent on electricity.

Double and triple skin insulated fibreglass roofing sheets allow for more heat to be retained inside the structure. They are factory assembled, sealed units that are manufactured to meet the needs of the customer. They are used in conjunction with our Thermaclad Insulated sheets to achieve a great insulative effect. The insulating effect will save you money on heating bills and reduces your carbon footprint as a bonus.

Do Fibreglass Roofing Sheets Require Maintenance?

For added peace of mind, fibreglass roofing sheets are resistant to attack by microorganisms, fungi, larvae, insects and mildew. To remove any dirt or deposits from the material, simple wash with mild detergent. The maintenance required is minimal despite the panels being able to last for years.

The box section sheets were delivered on time and the delivery driver was very helpful by helping to move the sheets from he front of the property to the rear garden.
The roofing sheets were perfectly cut to the size ordered and the supplied fittings were sufficient for the re-roofing job. One sheet was found to have minor distortion along one edge, possibly caused during its transport, but I did not spot this until after the driver had departed. It required gentle bending back into shape and is hardly noticeable now that it is fitted.
Overall, very good quality product and straightforward dealing with the company.
